I adored this book! I was drowning and got completely lost in this world that Marissa Meyer has created in Cinder. Everything about it sucked me in...the writing, the characters, the cover, the genre. This clever twist of Cinderella left me breathless and yearning for more. Who doesn't love the story of Cinderella, and the possibility of two different worlds finding love. With every word that Meyer breathes onto the pages, I was falling more in love with the characters and falling deeper into this futuristic world of hope and loss. One of the reasons I love this book so much was that Meyer was able to touch on many differet emotions while reading Cinder. It's not everyday that you read a book, never mind a debut novel, that is able to play with your emotions on different levels throughout the book.Meyer does such an unbelievable job of capturing the hearts of the reader by developing such unforgettable characters that you can relate to. You can feel the desperation that Cinder has of getting away from her Stepmother, Adri, and her stepsister, Pearl. You can feel the ache in her heart when you read about her loving relationship with her other stepsister, Peony.I found myself crushing on Prince Kai early on in the book, and had officially declared him as my new book boyfriend halfway through. I could totally and completely envision every aspect of this book, especially the ball. I could picture the grandeur of it all...the gowns, the ballroom, the palace garden. While reading Cinder, you can really see how much love Meyer has put into creating her characters. Although I was able to predict what was going to happen, that still didn't stop me from continuing to read this beautiful story. I still wanted to be enveloped in this world, regardless the outcome. The story of Cinder is one that will remain in the hearts of anyone who reads it, and I for one cannot wait for the next installment in the Lunar Chronicles.
